Before you start
Before connecting Omnisend to your shop, make sure:
- You have a Omnisend account or you're ready to create
- Your Big Cartel shop is active
A paid Big Cartel plan is required to connect and use the Mailchimp integration.

- Head to the Omnisend app in the Big Cartel Apps Center:https://app.bigcartel.com/apps/omnisend
- Click Add to your store
- Review permissions and click Allow to connect
- Connect your existing Omnisend account, or create a new one
- Confirm your email and follow the setup prompts
- Authorize access to complete the connection
Once connected, your shop data will begin syncing automatically.
How to use Omnisend
After connecting, log into Omnisend and upload your brand assets:
- Go to Store settings → Brand assets
- Upload your logo and adjust colors/fonts
- Save your changes
This ensures your emails stay visually consistent with your shop.
Create a popup to collect emails
- In Omnisend, go to Forms
- Choose a popup or signup form template
- Customize it to match your brand (colors, text, layout)
- Add an offer (discount, early access, etc.) to encourage signups
- Click Enable form → Continue
- Your popup will now appear on your storefront

- “Get 10% off your first order”
- “Join for early access to new drops”
- “Spin to win a surprise discount”
Create your first campaign

You can use Omnisend to:
- Build campaigns from scratch
- Use templates for faster design
- Add products using the product picker

- Write clear subject lines and preheaders to avoid spam filters
- Test different versions of emails (A/B testing)
- Schedule emails strategically to avoid overwhelming subscribers

Important:
If you enable these in Omnisend, disable the same emails in Big Cartel to avoid duplicates

Troubleshooting Omnisend
Popup is connected but not showing
- Make sure the form is enabled in Omnisend
- Confirm your shop is not in maintenance mode
- Check display rules (timing, targeting)
- Test on another browser or device
Omnisend says you need code or a developer
- Ignore custom platform instructions
- Use the Big Cartel Apps Center connection instead
- Only use embed code if adding forms to custom pages
Can’t find popup or form settings
- All forms and campaigns are managed in Omnisend, not Big Cartel
Not sure if Omnisend is connected
- Go to Apps → Manage connected apps
- Look for Omnisend in the list
- If missing, reconnect the app
Customers receiving duplicate emails
- Disable overlapping emails in Big Cartel (like abandoned checkout)
- Let Omnisend handle those instead
