Connect your Big Cartel shop to Facebook Shopping and put your products in front of millions of potential buyers. With seamless integration, you can display your products directly on Facebook and Instagram, making it easy for shoppers to discover your items and purchase from your shop.

Get Connected

Use Meta Commerce Manager to link your products directly in your Instagram and Facebook posts, helping customers find your products faster.

  1. Head over to the App Center and click Facebook Shop.
  2. On the app page, select Add to your shop > Get Started.
  3. Then click Go to Meta Commerce Manager in the top right corner.
  4. Follow the steps below to complete the setup.

Set up

1. Create and Connect Your Meta Accounts

You’ll need the following:

  • Facebook account and Page (required for Facebook Shopping)
    You can use an existing personal Facebook account or create a separate one for your business.
  • Instagram account
    Make sure it’s set up as a Business Account:
    Go to Profile > Settings > Account > Switch to Professional Account.

Once created, link your Facebook Page, Instagram Business Account, and Meta Commerce account together using this article.

2. Create Your Shop

Start by creating your shop in Meta Commerce Manager and follow the prompts.

  1. Log in to Commerce Manager.
  2. Click Get started under Get started with Shops.
  3. Decide how you want to manage your shop.
  4. Select where you want your customers to complete their purchase.
  5. Choose where you want to set up your online storefront, and select the Business Manager account associated with it.
  6. Select an existing product catalog or create a new one.
  7. Select your shipping and return settings.
  8. Check your shop details, review the merchant agreement and click Create your shop.

You’ll need these links for your Big Cartel shop (be sure to replace example with your shop domain):

  • Product feed link:
https://example.bigcartel.com/facebook.xml
  • Checkout URL:
https://example.bigcartel.com/checkout
Optional: Add a Meta Pixel
You can add a pixel to help track traffic and conversions, though it’s not required to begin selling.

Check your settings

To locate your product data feed:

  1. Log into Meta Commerce.
  2. Select your account.
  3. Click the Catalog > Data source to view and update product feed.

To locate your checkout link

  1. Log into Meta Commerce.
  2. Select your account.
  3. Click Settings > General to view and make sure your checkout link is correct.

Check your To Do list

Make sure everything on your to-do list is completed—then you’re ready to begin tagging your products.

3. Tag Products in Your Posts

After your catalog is connected, you can start tagging products directly in Instagram and Facebook posts.

Some additional items you may need to provide

Heads up! During setup, you may need the following:

  • Shipping information
  • Driver’s license for business information

Tagging products

Instagram

When creating a post or story, select Tag Products, then choose items from your Big Cartel catalog.
Customers who tap the product tag will be taken to your Big Cartel shop to check out.

Facebook

Use the Tag Products option when publishing a post and select products from your catalog.
Customers who click the product tag will be directed to your Big Cartel checkout.
