Getting Started with Omnisend
Connecting Omnisend to Your Shop
Access the App:
- Go to your Big Cartel admin and navigate to the Apps Store.
- Alternatively, click directly on this link.
Add Omnisend to Your Shop:
- Click the Add to Your Shop button.
- Review the permissions and click Connect to authorize the integration.
Set Up Your Account:
- If you have an existing Omnisend account, you can connect it.
- If you're new to Omnisend, you can create a new account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
Managing Your Omnisend Integration
Accessing Your Omnisend Dashboard:
- Head to your Big Cartel admin and navigate to the Apps Store.
- Find Omnisend in your list of connected apps.
- Click the Manage button to access your Omnisend dashboard.
From your Omnisend dashboard, you can create campaigns, set up automations, view analytics, and manage your subscriber lists.
Email Automations: Important Note
To avoid duplicate emails, you must disable Big Cartel's built-in email notifications before enabling similar automations in Omnisend. This applies to:
- Order receipt notifications
- Shipping status updates
- Abandoned checkout reminders
To disable Big Cartel's built-in emails:
- Go to your Account Preferences in Big Cartel.
- Under the Email Notifications section, disable the corresponding email types.
- Save your changes.
- Now you can safely enable the same types of automations in Omnisend.
If you skip this step, your customers may receive duplicate emails—one from Big Cartel and one from Omnisend.
Disconnecting Omnisend
If you need to disconnect Omnisend from your Big Cartel shop:
- Head to your Big Cartel admin and navigate to the Apps Store.
- Find Omnisend in your list of connected apps.
- Click the Remove button.
- Confirm your decision to remove the integration.
Note that disconnecting the integration will stop the syncing of new data between Big Cartel and Omnisend, but it will not delete your Omnisend account or the data previously synced.
