Not receiving emails from Big Cartel?

There could be a number of reasons why you're not receiving emails for order notifications, password resets, and account updates for your Big Cartel shop. Here are some of them below.

You unsubscribed from all emails from Big Cartel.

When you unsubscribe from our emails, we take it seriously to not send you anything else after that. Unfortunately that means we won't send important shop communications, since those messages also come from our @bigcartel.com email address.

You reported Big Cartel as spam.

Whether it was on accident or not, once we're notified, we stop sending emails your way since we take spam seriously.

Your email provider decided emails from Big Cartel were spam.

Some email providers (ahem, Yahoo and Hotmail) will mark messages as spam before they even hit your inbox! This is totally beyond your control and there's no way to adjust those settings. Switching to another email provider, like Gmail, where you have more control over your spam settings is a great option to prevent that from happening down the road.

Your email address wasn't active when we sent a message your way.

If you have a custom email address that was inactive when we sent a message, then that message will bounce back to us, and your email address will be added to our "do not send" list.

Your inbox was full!

While this rarely happens, a custom email with limited storage can fill up. If your inbox maxes out, then any bounced messages can also get your email address added to our "do not send" list.
